Laurence Magro is a qualified facilitator in the Eat Right Now training program. This curriculum was developed by addiction specialist Dr. Judson Brewer at the Center for Mindfulness at UMASS Medical School. Dr. Brewer has been a thought leader in the field of habit change and the “science of self-mastery” for the past 20 years.
CONTENT:
Mindful Eating offers conceptual and experiential training. Examples of topics include:
How we form habits and how to create healthy habits
Practical tools to incorporate mindfulness in daily life
Students will learn daily lessons and practice instructions delivered by Dr. Brewer via The Eat Right Now® digital platform, complemented and supported by weekly group education and discussion sessions facilitated by Laurence Magro.
This course provides instruction and guidance to learn concrete mindfulness skills for greater awareness and control over eating.
How to work with cravings to use mindfulness when you eat
Stress vs. Hunger
Coping with triggers
Working with difficult emotions
Setting realistic goals and managing setbacks
SPECIAL PROGRAM INFORMATION: This program uses the Eat Right Now® app developed by Dr. Judson Brewer, MD PhD, a world-renowned expert on addiction and Director of Research at the Center for Mindfulness UMass Medical School. The digital therapeutic app delivers mindfulness training right at your fingertips over 30 short video modules. It also provides in-the-moment exercises, allowing participants to build skills one moment at a time. Taking 10 minutes each day to complete a new lesson, you will learn how to put it into practice throughout the day in manageable, bite-sized pieces. Participants will need an iPhone, Android smartphone, or tablet with an internet connection in order to participate in Mindful Eating.
